Accounts Receivable Analyst I – Full Time, Non-exempt, at Cedar House Life Change Center

Cedar House Life Change Center (CHLCC) is a 125-bed treatment facility, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that was awarded Top Work Placed in 2021. Our organization encourages employees to grow in their positions and promotes them from within the company. 

We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Analyst I to join our team to continue to provide high-quality Substance Abuse Treatment.

The salary range for this position is $24.00- $28.00/ Hour.

What You'll Do:

All duties and responsibilities will be closely managed. Projects/Matters of limited complexity will be provided in a supportive role.

Billing:

  • Data input into all County and State reporting systems requisite for the proof of provision of services and payment, including but not limited to: 
  • The California Outcomes Measurement System (CalOMS) reporting system.
  • AVATAR
  • Coordinates with Station Staff to ensure billing information is timely and accurate.
  • Access, on a needed basis, the San Bernardino Information Management Online Network (SIMON).
  • Responsible for resolving billing issues.
  • Maintains and provides records pertaining to month-end, quarterly, and year-end reports upon request.
  • Prepares and maintains spreadsheets for contract billing, grants, and other funding sources.
  • Assists in billing reconciliation.
  • Provides recommendations related to the improvement of the billing section process.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field through attendance at necessary meetings pertaining to billing procedures.
  • Interact with various county agencies specifically regarding the provision of services (e.g., Probation/Parole officers, CFS Workers, TAP and TAY representatives, etc.).
  • Attend internal and external meetings as required by the supervisor.
  • Attendance of educational training and seminars to further job knowledge and education.
  • Maintains relevant, up-to-date knowledge as it pertains to Cedar House readiness and qualifications as it pertains to all billing (Medi-Cal and County Contracts). 

Accounts Receivable:

  • Analyze accounts receivable transactions to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Enter accounts receivable transactions into the system.
  • Maintains and reconciles accounts receivable ledger to ensure accurate and timely receipt of payments.
  • Utilizes AR data to identify trends, inefficiencies, delinquent accounts, and opportunities to improve accounts receivable policies and procedures. 
  • Generates reports to bring insight into collections, account ages, and other relevant metrics and relays conclusions to management. 
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in billings and collections. 
  • Analyzes customer credit history, determines credit risk, and recommends credit limits and payment terms. 
  • May be responsible for ad hoc customer billing and responding to customer bill inquiries. 
  • Other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. (Preferably in Accounting or Finance)

  • Knowledge and experience with existing compliance and regulatory requirements related to the field of work.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and maintaining constructive working relationships with outside stakeholders, management staff, and co-workers.
  • An understanding of government contracts and provision of service. 
  • Ability to learn new programs and software.
  • Resourcefulness, creativity, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Beginner/intermediate level in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • Detail-oriented and has the ability to analyze data and circumstances.
  • Professional experience working with confidential and sensitive information.
